First the skinny jean, then the legging… apparently they hit it off and have now spawned “jeggings”.   The denim-legging hybrid is a knit denim inspired pant that is oh so comfortable.  This trend will be hot throughout 2010 and into 2011.  Ladies, Violet and I have to warn you that like leggings, if worn improperly, jeggings too can result in an animal toe and thunder thighs so please be careful how you wear them.

Violet and I love Free People’s jegging for $98.  Check them out at www.freepeople.com

Sonia Rykiel for H&M Hits Stores Today!

Swedish clothing company H&M was one of the first contemporary stores to work with with high-end fashion designers.  There have been seven collaborations thus far with the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney and the Jimmy Choo label.

Sonia Rykiel’s lingerie collaboration with H&M was a huge success and her knitwear collection will be hitting 200 H&M stores today.  The collection is full of bright colors and has a fun Parisian flair.

Check out her collection at www.hm.com

Mad For Plaid

Welcome back to the 90’s, when Nirvana hit the world, Clair Danes and Jared Leto became huge stars on fan favorite My So Called Life, and “ditzy yet endearing rich girl whose love for clothes” movie formula sizzled with Cher in Clueless.  [Sigh... the good ol' days]

Well… it’s not quite the 90’s (or the 70’s), however what has come back is PLAID !!!  What was once only creeping into the NY scene via the Williamsburg “pourgeois” crowd, has now hit the streets in full force.  The simple, colorful plaid shirt as seen in below pic, worn casual with jeans and flats (or heels or boots) is not the only way we’re seeing plaid.  Plaid will be back in every form, from light bombers to wool coats, to accessories such as scarves, to tunics and dresses.  Plaid can also be dressed up and prepperized (think Burberry) or sexed up (think tunic + pvc leggings + booties).

Oh yes, quite simply, I am Mad for Plaid !
