Violet and Lola were both born, raised, and attending college in the tranquil Mid-West, but their story began under the bright lights of the Big Apple.  As Fashion Merchandising majors at their universities, both girls enrolled in FIT’s Visiting Student Program their Junior year.  Violet and Lola met in marketing class and became fast friends.  Although Violet and Lola’s personal styles were quite different, they both shared impeccable taste and unique fashion sense.  Violet loved spicing up classic and feminine pieces, while Lola simply adored unconventional design and edgier trends. They spent the year together immersing themselves in the dynamic world of fashion, the incredible music scene and the extraordinary nightlife that defines New York City.  The year flew by, and the girls parted ways with a beautiful new friendship and a passionate new love of New York.  Violet and Lola kept in close touch over their Senior Year and could not wait to start their careers in the city…and they have!

Violet and Lola have both worked for Corporate Fashion Companies for the past four years.  Their experience in the office has been another education all together!  Their positions as Merchants have revealed every aspect of the Fashion Industry – from aggressive executives, to late night deadlines, to fabulous moments of glitz and glamour.  Their constant determination and sincere work ethic have helped them climb that proverbial ladder.  Now, with the encouragement of their amazing friends, and their beloved city as inspiration, Violet and Lola are starting a brand new journey.  Armed with their experience in the industry, and their deep love of fashion, they are proud to launch VioletandLola.com!   The site offers information on all things fashion – the latest trends in apparel, advice on coordinating and accessorizing, entertainment and music, beauty tips/product reviews, and personal journal entries by Violet and Lola, illustrating their life in New York City.

Almost six years ago, two young girls from the middle of the country, wound up in class together in the city considered the center of the universe.  That day set in motion a devoted friendship that has led Violet and Lola to embark on their greatest challenge yet.  They hope you will join them!
